Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer - Sleepy!

My first session of 2011 was with this sweet little one. She made is so simple by just sleeping the time away. I would move her around, change her hat or flower, roll her around and she really didn't act like it bothered her at all. It made my job so very easy.

Thanks for letting me hang out with you for the day. It was great meeting the whole family.

How fun is this ruffle blanket? I couldn't wait to use it.

Oh to have this gorgeous skin again!

I love these ruffle bloomers and matching socks!

Big brother was so great at holding her.

A dreamy little shot as I looked at her through her crib rails.

If she gets 20 comments on this post, I will give her mom and dad a really great gift from her session. But play fair, only one comment per person please!

Northern Virginia Photographer - 3 months down

Here is Miss "S" at three months old. You might recognize her as my little Santa Baby from this newborn session and her momma from her maternity session. I just want to squeeze her and all her little rolls that are popping up all over. This was the second session for her in her baby plan. Four sessions in the first year all to document all the important milestones like sitting, standing and walking. I can't wait to watch her grow and change over the next year.

If you would like a baby plan just like this please inquire as to how it works. The first year is such an important time of development for your baby, don't let it pass by without documenting those important milestones.

Look who decided to find her thumb for the first time during our session!

{Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer} Sleepy!

I had such a fun session this morning. I went to go visit with some friends of mine who just added a baby girl to their family of three, making it a family of four. I walked in and Big Sister was rocking out to her tunes in her room and baby was just sleeping away in the living room completely oblivious to it all. And that is how the session went. Grace's big sister, Ella, ran around and did her thing during the session, and this sweet little baby just slept and slept.
An added bonus was that Grandma was in town so I go the chance to get some three generation shots that are my favorite.

Thanks for a fun morning "D" family. The girls are just gorgeous!

I love how in this shot all three ladies put their hands into the picture the exact same way. No thumbs. I bet they didn't even notice.

Follow Up {Northern Virginia Family Photographer}

I recently had a session with Little Miss K and posted one picture from that session here on the blog. I promised you a few more, so here they are. Aren't those lips to die for???

I never would have had this session if it wasn't for the referral of a dear friend of mine and fellow photographer, Stephanie Johnson. I have known Stephanie for years. We were roommates back in the day and I even sang in her wedding. It is great to have friends in the same industry who can look out for you and refer client when appropriate. Thanks Steph!

Peek {Northern Virginia Photographer}

Today I met Keira, a sweet 17 day old. She wasn't too sure about this whole picture thing and wanted to try and stay up the whole time. I know that made momma nervous wondering if we would get anything done. But never fear, little one, we wore you down and pretty soon you were sound asleep, peaceful as can be. Here is one to tide you over until I can get to the whole session. Thanks for having me in your home today. It was great meeting you!

Fancy Shmancy {Northern Virginia Family Photographer}

This past Friday night we were treated to a special dinner out by some dear friends of ours. You see, my wonderful husband has a real knack for computers, networks, routers, and hard drives. All the things that make my brain hear "Blah, Blah, Blah" whenever he talks about such things. He spends a large amount of his time helping out our friends and family (as well as his wonderful clients) with all their computer problems. As a thank you for all his hard work, our friends Chris and Graham took us out to dinner at one of the best restaurants in Washington, DC and as an added bonus, two of their beautiful daughters babysat our little one so we could enjoy the evening.

We had heard wonderful things about this restaurant but had never taken the time to dine there ourselves even though it is close and gets rave reviews from anyone we know who has eaten there. When we heard of their dining selection we were both excited to be finally going to this eating establishment.

Well, it certainly didn't disappoint. It was probably one of the best meals we have had in a VERY long time.

So if you are in the DC/Northern Virginia area and are looking for a wonderful, long, dining experience with great service. Please visit L'Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls.

It won't disappoint.

And of course, my camera came along for the ride.

(For you non-photographers out there, the blurry parts are on purpose. I was shooting using a very narrow depth of field so my camera focused clearly on a very small portion of the picture.)

The incredible menu with so many choices it took almost an hour to pick what we all wanted.

Sunny Afternoon {Dorie Howell Kids}

Today I went to Old Town and met with a group of fellow photographers to take pictures, chat about photography and just enjoy the beautiful day. We had a great time talking "shop". Here are a few from the morning.

Special thanks to the "B" Family who I met at the park and who allowed me to take pictures of their beautiful family. Your pictures will be e-mailed to you soon. Thank you!

Little Miss "C" {DC Family Photographer}

I was so excited for this session to see my friend Miss "C". This is the fourth time that I have taken pictures for this family and I just love them. They are so relaxed and it shows in this little girl. Perfect in every way, I know we are going to become fast friends as I document her first year. Can't wait to see you soon!
