I have several sessions to show you and if you are a "fan" (I don't know what they call it anymore but I am still going to use the term "fan" until I figure it out) of mine on Facebook, you have seen a session or two that I haven't shown on the blog. I will catch up soon, I promise. But in the meantime, here are some pictures that I took tonight after dinner of us just having some fun outside.

Self Portrait. You would think a curly haired gal would be able to avoid the frizzy hair in a shot like this, but noooooo. I just can't wait for the humidity of these Virginia summers to return. (Can you hear my sarcasm?)

I think this is one of my favorite family shots to date.

DC Metro Family Photographer - Now What?

I have noticed over the months that many of my clients want to display their photos in their home but have a hard time knowing what sizes and combinations would work best for their space. I mean, not all of us can be interior designers, I know that I certainly am not. In fact, I struggle with this same issue. I have great plans for the pictures of my family and want to have them displayed in my home but I really struggle with how to put things together on my walls. I am so excited to say that now I have some tools to help my clients put together beautiful, professional displays that they can be sure will show off their photographs in wonderful way.

I am excited to put these tools to use in my home and I know they will take much of the guess work out of it for you too!

If you are a previous client and would like access to these tools, please just shoot me an e-mail. I would be happy to send you the information and re-load your gallery for free in case you need to order a picture or two to fill in the gaps.

Vienna Family Photographer - Family

Another session I had this past weekend was with this great family. I have taken pictures of their sweet little girl on two other occasions. It is always fun to visit with them and see how she has grown. This time while I was there I had the opportunity to photograph her whole family as well as her grandparents that were here to help her celebrate her first birthday. They all just adore this little girl!

Thank you for having me in your home again. It was great seeing you and photographing your lovely family.

Fairfax Maternity Photographer - Expecting Beautifully

This past weekend I had the chance to photograph this lovely couple to commemorate the upcoming birth of their new baby. Thank you for having me in your home "J" family. It was a pleasure meeting you. I can't wait to meet your new bundle of joy in a few weeks!

Vienna Virginia Family Photographer - Moments

Last night after dinner, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful evening weather. It was so nice after the heat of the day to go out and play. My little one has a small obsession with sidewalk chalk, and I knew that as soon as we stepped out the door, she would be making a beeline for her bucket of chalk. And she did not disappoint. It just so happens that I have a small obsession with taking pictures so our passions go together pretty well. She sits still to color on the sidewalk, and I have time to try out some new equipment without having to chase her around the yard.

Last night, she watched me lay down in the grass. She did the same on the sidewalk and started coloring away. She loved the picture she drew so much that she gave it a kiss.

As I lay there, in the grass, I kept thinking to myself, "Soak it up Dorie. These days will be over before you know it." So that is what I did. I just stayed, lying face down in the grass, camera in hand, soaking it all up.

Here is hoping that you also have a chance to soak it up before these moments are gone in a blink of an eye.

Vienna Maternity Photographer - Three!

This past Thursday I went to one of my favorite locations and had a session with the nicest family. They have two beautiful girls and are expecting another baby in a few weeks. Mom wanted to get a few pictures of her with her girls, a few family shots and some of just her and her beautiful belly. I think we covered everything and have few extras in the mix.

It was great meeting you "W" family. I can't wait to see you in a few weeks and meet the newest member of your beautiful family.

This shot just makes me smile. Little girls, doing what little girls do best. Laughing and having fun.
