Southern Charm {Dorie Howell Babes}

This is one of the sweetest families you will ever meet. Oozing with good old Southern Charm and hospitality. I had a wonderful time photographing them and their precious little boy this afternoon. This is the third time I have had the pleasure of photographing little "J". The first was at his pretty mom's maternity session and the second time was at the hospital a day after he was born. Thanks for inviting me into your home today. I had a great time catching up with you and spending time with your precious little boy. Leaving your home with a take home package of Red Velvet Cake was a pure bonus! Yumm!!!

What a sweet, beautiful family

This hat is his daddy's. It will be fun to photograph him next to it and see how he grows over the next year. "J's" Daddy is really into Civil War History so I thought it would be fitting to show this photo in Black and White.

Monday Morning Smiles {Dorie Howell Babes}

This morning my daughter and I went and had a session with this little cutie. She was a good sport even though she wasn't too sure about me. She did, however, love the sound of my camera as I clicked away. I think we got some great stuff. Enjoy your sneak peek mom. Thanks for letting me photograph your sweet little girl.

This picture was inspired by a photograph I saw recently by Stephanie Johnson. Not only is she a great photographer but she is a wonderful, long time friend. Her work can be seen at www.babysnapportraits.com.

Sunny Afternoon {Dorie Howell Kids}

Today I went to Old Town and met with a group of fellow photographers to take pictures, chat about photography and just enjoy the beautiful day. We had a great time talking "shop". Here are a few from the morning.

Special thanks to the "B" Family who I met at the park and who allowed me to take pictures of their beautiful family. Your pictures will be e-mailed to you soon. Thank you!

The Eyes have it {Dorie Howell Babes}

I had a wonderful morning today hanging out with my good friend Miss C. I have taken her pictures three times already. The first time was for her moms maternity session. The second time was in the hospital when she was just a day old and then we did her newborn session two weeks later. She is just so sweet. I love to see my clients grow and she has certainly done that over the past three months. Thanks for spending the morning with me today. I am looking forward to seeing all the new things you are going to be able to do in three more months.

Summer is Here! {Dorie Howell Kids}

Well, Summer is officially here. We celebrated by taking an extended Memorial Day weekend trip down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. A weekend filled with family, friends, food and fun. What a great way to start another summer. I hope you had a relaxing weekend. Happy Summer!

Grandkids {Dorie Howell Family}

This past Sunday I went and had a session with a big extended family here in Northern Virginia. They came together to have their photographs taken in order to remember this time together before one of the families leave for Germany for three years. The kids were a lot of fun and I think I captured some great stuff. As you can see, even Charlie the dog got in on the action. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I love this picture because there is a little something going on in it that someone on the end didn't think I would see. :)

Little "D" {Dorie Howell Kids}

This little guy and his mom had a session today that almost didn't happen. It has been raining a lot here and this morning was no exception. But in between sprinkles, we managed to get some great shots. Mom and son were troopers as we braved mud, wet grass and a few raindrops. I think it was worth it. Thanks for spending the morning with me!
